In reality there is very little or no difference between say, European bodybuilding and American bodybuilding, but if one looks at it as the region in which the sports is being performed, then there certainly is an American bodybuilding. Once you start off, set realistic and achievable goals for yourself, and also have a positive approach. Assess your present body weight, condition and then figure out where you want to see your body condition in four months, or a year or five years time. Do not give up easily, give the American bodybuilding program at least three months, because in about three months your body should start adjusting and modifying itself according to your bodybuilding, fitness regime, before you choose to give up on it. As a fresher, you should start of with compound exercises which allow more muscle input as about two joints are treated at a time. Always remember that in American bodybuilding, when you start of with weight training, you should always begin with lighter weights to get a feel of how your muscles are reacting as heavy weights can cause muscle damage, if you are not capable enough.
